Clinical Portal Information
The clinician registration portal is to be used by any prescriber who wishes to write prescriptions and/or enroll patients into the WVRx system. You will be asked for your name, license type, license number, and expiration date, along with demographic information.
Once registered into the WVRx system, you or your office staff may enroll patients into WVRx to receive free pharmaceuticals using the web-based system.
Here are a few particulars regarding the WVRx system:
- Your patient MUST be enrolled in WVRx in order for us to fill his/her prescriptions.
- Patients who are approved, are provided an approval letter that they are instructed to bring with them to each office visit.
- WVRx handles only brand name chronic disease medications. We do not fill any controlled drug prescriptions.
- Please check the formulary to ensure that the medication you are prescribing is available from us! The formulary can be found at www.wvrx.org
- The prescription may also be mailed directly to the WVRx charitable central fill pharmacy by either the clinician or patient. Mail to:
WVRx Central Fill Pharmacy
1520 Washington Street East
Charleston, WV 25311
- If the prescription has limited refills, we MUST have a new prescription. Please encourage your patients to contact you for a new prescription at LEAST 20 days before they expire to avoid delays.
Backup documentation may be sent via fax, email or U.S. Mail from the patient after they are registered online. The WVRx team will send your patient a letter of approval, as well as a letter to their clinician for the patient chart.
Activation of clinician enrollment occurs within 24 hours and patient enrollment occurs within 24-48 hours after receiving backup documentation.
Patients may send backup documents to:
