The WVRx promise

Paperwork is almost non-existent if a Clinician needs help with patients who are unable to afford his or her medications.

    • Give your patient the West Virginia Rx enrollment forms so that he or she may complete their registration process.

    • Patients mail proof of income (We MUST have a current tax return or proof of non-filing from the IRS, or the SS 1099)
    • Include the $30 annual processing fee
    • The patient will be mailed a determination letter (Approved or Ineligible) which will also be mailed to your office.
    • Mail the prescriptions to:
      WVRx Patient Eligibility
      1520 Washington Street East
      Charleston, WV 25311

    • EPrescribe Prescriptions to:  WV Health Right, Inc.

    • FAX Prescriptions to:  304-414-2200

    • Prescriptions will then be mailed at no cost to the patient within 24 to 48 hours of approval to all areas of West Virginia.
    • The West Virginia Rx Pharmacist is available to answer any questions the patient may have via a toll free number at 877-388-9879.
  1. West Virginia Rx will notify the health care practitioner that their patient's medication has been mailed!

The best part? Your cost per patient is reduced by the amount of time you and your staff spends on assisting them in accessing much needed medicine. Continuity of care increases and overall quality of life improves!

Here are a few particulars regarding the WVRx system:

  • Your patient MUST be enrolled in WVRx in order for us to fill his/her prescriptions.
  • Patients who are approved, are provided an approval letter as are each prescriber the patient lists as his or her provider.
  • WVRx handles only brand name chronic disease medications. We do not fill any controlled drug prescriptions.
  •
  • If the prescription has limited refills, we MUST have a new prescription. Please encourage your patients to contact you for a new prescription at LEAST 20 days before they expire to avoid delays.

Backup documentation may be sent via fax, email or U.S. Mail from the patient or provider's office. The WVRx team will send your patient a letter of approval, as well as a letter to their clinician for the patient chart.
